This programme offers a unique opportunity to study Tourism and Hospitality Management in Malta. Applicants must possess one of the following:

  • (a) Matriculation certification (MQF level 4) full qualification (or an equivalent qualification) OR
  • (b) Diploma in Tourism and / or Hospitality Management / Business Management at MQF Level 4 full qualification or an equivalent qualification

AND

Proficient in English and in possession of IELTS 6.5 or higher (or an equivalent English qualification - if unavailable, students may apply for our English for Academic Purposes Course).

  7. Reflect on the importance of the different ethical considerations
  8. Critically analyse how basic economics functions and influence decision making within tourism and hospitality organisations
  9. Assess the use of traditional marketing and digital marketing within tourism and hospitality organisations
  10. Reflect on various trends and issues in contemporary tourism and hospitality
  11. Assess the role of events management within the field of tourism and hospitality

Learning Outcomes for Skills obtained at the end of the programme

  1. Practice effective decision making and problem solving when dealing with problems at the place of work
  2. Use various management tools which are applicable to various areas within management including SWOT, PESTLE, Porter’s Five Forces, and others
  3. Use critical thinking to be able to deal effectively with issues and challenges faced by tourism and hospitality organisations
  4. Communicate effectively with different stakeholders within a tourism organisation, both internal and external
  5. Practice the management cycle in an effective manner within a tourism and hospitality organisation
  6. Ensure compliance with the ethical considerations which are prominent within a tourism and hospitality organisation
  7. Apply various principles of strategy and strategic goals in tourism and hospitality organisations
  8. Use traditional marketing and digital marketing within tourism and hospitality organisations
  9. Assess the role of events management within the field of tourism and hospitality

General Assessment Methods

This programme exposes learners to various assessment methods including summative and formative approaches including individual assignments, examinations, group power point presentations and individual PowerPoint presentations. Group and individual presentations are used to analyse the communication skills acquired by the learners as well as effective teamwork skills. Moreover, this programme also includes classroom-based assessments and reflective journal which allows the tutor to effectively analyse the strengths and weaknesses of the learners, as well as allows the same learner to further work on their strengths and weaknesses. This will ensure student autonomy as well as allows tutors to support students according to their requirements.

This qualification is awarded by eie European Business School and is accredited by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA). MFHEA deems this Master to be at MQF Level 7 (90 ECTS) of the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.

After successful completion of 60 ECTS students can also opt to exit from the Undergraduate Higher Diploma programme and be awarded the Undergraduate Diploma in Business Administration (MQF Level 5 - 60 ECTS). An Exit Fee (please refer to our Payments and Refund Policy Page for exit fees information) is applicable for any candidate who wishes to exit earlier from this course and obtain the exit award. The exit award fee is not applicable if a candidate withdraws from this course and is not awarded with an exit award. A letter of completion, listing any modules successfully completed, together with an unofficial transcript (confirming that the course was not successfully completed) will be given to such candidate.
